Wator Applet

This applet implements the Wator simulation, as described in The Armchair Universe, by A. K. Dwedney.

Sharks (the predators) are red, fish (the prey) are yellow.

You can edit the parameters of the simulation by hitting the Configure button.  I have yet to find a set of parameters that lead to a balanced population.

Late Breaking News!

Tom wishes it to be known that he has used a fish breeding age of 1, which has enabled populations to survive for times in excess of 80,000 cycles.

Note:

The default text font size (12pt) under Mozilla running on Linux or FreeBSD seemed much too large. The applet has been modified to allow selection of font size, between an 8 and 14 point size. Select your preferred font size by clicking in the list box. Let me know (www@hydrus.org.uk) if there are any problems with this approach.
